Sirens is an installation that explores the interplay between of femininity, nourishment, and the cyclical nature of life, while probing the boundaries between the maternal and the monstrous. The work features two ceramic fountains, each composed by numerous breasts from which water flows. This exaggerated forms blur the line between the comforting and the grotesque, the familiar and the alien. Accompanied by a meditative auditory element, the installation invites reflection on themes of care, growth and indipendece, while its mechanical components introduce a dystopian unease.
The work challenges preconceived notions of femininity and care intertwining the monstruos and the maternal into a thought-provoking dialogue.
